Les Penning with Robert Reed - Stories From The Beacon (TICKET)
Stories From The Beacon with Les Penning - Saturday 22nd August 2026
Step back into one of the most creative periods in Mike Oldfield's career with this unique event featuring Les Penning - musician, collaborator, friend and one of the key figures behind the sound of Ommadawn. Les was at the heart of the community surrounding Penrhos Court and The Beacon. His love of early music inspired many of Mike's singles from 1974 to 1978, and his unmistakable playing became an essential part of Ommadawn, In Dulci Jubilo, Argiers and Cuckoo Song.
For this one-off event, Les Penning is accompanied by acclaimed musician Robert Reed for an intimate performance of many of these much-loved pieces, with conversation hosted by Paul Harris. Expect fascinating stories from the studio sessions that created Ommadawn, behind the-scenes memories of life with Mike Oldfield, and tales from an extraordinary era.

This is included in the ticket price and consists of a main and a dessert. There will be two choices of carvery and a vegetarian option, and a selection of desserts. Drinks will be available at your own cost.
